PostClarks & Christopher Raeburn at London Fashion week

Tuesday 22nd September saw the launch of our SS16 collaboration with Christopher Raeburn at his London Fashion Week show on Brewer Street.  Almost 200 years separate our origins but with Christopher we share a natural territory of thinking differently.

The show and our collection (which comprises 11 men’s and women’s styles) was inspired by anthropologist Tom Harrison in Borneo. The collection merges Raeburn’s urban utilitarian aesthetic with our iconic simplicity.

With the world’s fashion press gathered Christopher’s show was a huge success and our hotly anticipated collection went down a storm.

PostOur Man in Milan

LineapelleMontage4b We take the selection of our shoe and bag materials super-seriously. So twice a year we dispatch our resident Clarks experts to Lineapelle in Milan, an international exhibition that shouts out the leathers and textiles you’ll be wearing not this season…not next season…but the season after that.

Over 20,000 visitors take to Lineapelle’s floors per show and most make a beeline to The Trend Area where buyers and designers tap into the hues and finishes that will inform their lookbooks and creative teams.

The Lineapelle brief for AW16/17? A return to natural leather tones makes ‘brown the new black’ while smooth vintage-luxe metallics keep whisking us back to the 70s. Colour goes technicolour –geometric microprints and digi-pop brights keep it sweet.

PostClarks & Raeburn

Raeburn_KD_JUNE15_S14_009v2 The press is starting to pack on the heat around the Clarks x Christopher Raeburn collaboration before it even launches at LFW later this month – and we couldn’t be more excited.

Fresh from picking up his gong for ‘Breakthrough Designer’ at the GQ Men of the Year 2015 awards he also celebrated a Vogue exclusive on the capsule SS16 collection created in collaboration with our own design and product teams.

Embracing Raeburn’s urban utilitarian aesthetic, the styles use cork, woven detail and recycled EVA to stay easy-wearing yet hardworking, and are inspired by anthropologist Tom Harrisson and his life in Borneo.

Congratulations Christopher. This adventure is only just beginning…

PostOrla’s It-shoes are back

Orla-montage3 SHOP – Orla Kiely

Launched at London Fashion Week, our AW15 Clarks Orla Kiely collection has landed and celebrates the season’s retro 70s vibe. Cute, kooky and preppy meets snowdrop prints, sugary shades and textures to die for. Oh, and the gold sparkle platform, Orla Abigail, is almost edible.

‘People say that the style of the shoes created with Clarks are ones that they’ve thought about and dreamt about,’ says Orla, ‘but you haven’t been able to buy….until now!’

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves…
