From meeting up with one of our favourite fashion bloggers at the Felder Felder show to street style with pugs and astronauts – London Fashion Week just keeps getting better! Watch this space for our full Orla Kiely show run-down.
The very concept of the modern man’s trainer has evolved, making athletic inspired footwear more wearable than ever. Inspired by the iconic Clarks Wallabee, our Tawyer Lite in sporty grey mesh intelligently straddles the line between sneaker and shoe, making them ideal for weekend wear for casual days.
Our Mego Walk in perforated unlined leather was created to be worn barefoot. This low profile classic calls on 50s sportswear for inspiration and will work with skinny black jeans now, then with shorts in a month or two when the weather begins to heat up.
Nothing says spring like a bright pop of yellow, and as it was such a key colour on the SS15 runways – we say why wait? The honey hue gives dark denim an instant lift and works harmoniously with sweet floral prints.
Pairing an ankle boot with anything from ripped jeans to pretty dresses is an instant way to channel off-duty model style. When you’re teaming them with a dress the trick is to make it look effortless – like you were heading out for coffee and threw on the last pair of shoes you left by the door.
You can also update your casual staples with some boho boots and this season’s drawstring bucket bag. These simple accessories will add a little festival flavour to dungaree shorts or denim cut-offs – so put the sneakers and sandals to one side and try out a pair of summer boots.
Each season a specific decade takes precedence on the runways and for SS15 it looks like the 70s has come out tops. Whether you see your style as hippy 2.0 or Saturday night fever, one way you can update (and backdate) your wardrobe will soon become clear. We’ll be at London Fashion Week this month to launch our new Orla collection – judging by this teaser you might want to start digging out your flares…
